Together, we are going to have a ride of our lives ahead of us!!

Dear GT family,

Thank you for patronising our church library. It’s our privilege to serve God and all of you in this ministry.

I am so blessed to be part of the ladies study group on the Book of Daniel by Beth Moore. Indeed, we are having a ride of our lives! Each lesson leaves us totally jazzed and it gets more exciting each week.

We are becoming aware of the type of ‘Babylon’ that surrounds us. Babylon symbolically represents certain negative influences and mentalities that permeates our excessive, self-centred culture today.

In relation to this, I am reminded of my all time favourite book entitled MONEY, SEX AND POWER BY RICHARD FOSTER.

I think this is one of the best books on the difficulty of living in a society driven by money, power, consumerism, sex and continual change.

A copy of this book as well as others by this same author is available at our library. Please feel free to come in and browse through our collection.

And finally, on behalf of the library team, it is our great honour and overflowing joy to welcome our new Senior Pastor Tony Phang and family to GT Klang. Together, we are going to have a ride of our lives ahead of us, in this church, Amen!!

Book Care and Handling Tips (3)

Protect books from rain, or any other type of moisture. Humidity encourages mold growth, and water damages paper and bindings. When transporting library materials in wet weather, protect them in a waterproof bag or backpack.

Limit the use of bookdrops. Books take a beating when dropped, especially when other books land on top of them. Return books to the Circulation Desk whenever possible.

Keep pets away from library books. A dog can reduce a book to chewed-up pulp in a matter of seconds.

Treat library materials with respect. Marking text, cutting out plates or photos, tearing out pages or outright theft of library materials all damage the collection and waste time and money on repairs and replacement.

Keep food and drink away from library materials. Spills and stains permanently damage books, which often require costly replacement. Food also attracts insects and rodents that eat paper and bindings.

Use a proper bookmark to mark
your place. Please don't
dog-ear pages, or use sticky notes or paper clips. These items cause permanent damage to the pages
of a book.
Use a thin slip of paper instead.

If you find library materials that are in need of repair, turn them in to
the Circulation Desk so trained library staff can repair them. Repairing items yourself can do more harm than good.

REMOVING LABELS FROM BOOKS by Bern Marcowitz

A simple hair dryer can often be as effective at removing labels as pricier commercial products. Set on low heat, it can also be very effective in removing nearly anything glued to paper.

If your books happen to get wet, the hair dryer can also be a valuable emergency drying tool. Some also find it to be effective on beginning mildew.
